Just Arrived

by Inkannie @ 24.02.2008 - 21:07:32

Hello all! :D

Well I've just arrived in this new world of blogging.

I am Inkannie, a member of the creative writing group, The Inklets. We're based in Leeds, UK, but have a fantastic website which means that anyone can join online! http://inklets.angelfire.com We have a forum on there too which anyone can join and chat on.

This blog will serve as the chronicles of my life as an Inklet.

So, what's been happening in the world of the Inklets lately? Help yourself to a custard cream, and I'll tell you.

On Monday the Inklets held our first public meeting, which meant that potential new members in the area could come along for a pint and a chat and find out all about us. We made friends with a lovely German lover of words, and hopefully she'll be joining our group permanently.

Then on Wednesday we had a meeting, where we presented campaigns - the results of the latest Inklets challenge (which you can also join in with online). I had written my campaign on 'Why Everyone Should Drink Yorkshire Tea'! A worthy cause, I feel. Not sure I managed to convert everyone though... The other presentations were so fantastic that we captured them on film. They were much better planned than mine, I have to say.

And then, to finish a busy week, we had a fun night out on Friday. We sat in a bar in Leeds, drinking pints and eating dolly beads. Whoever said that being an Inklet isn't wild?

The latest challenge is to write a piece centering around animals. And this is proving to be difficult simply because there are so many things I could write about. Perhaps the plight of a bookworm, or an elephant, or a unicorn? The possibilities are endless.

Off to mull over that one now.

Will be scribbling again soon!

TTFN.
